considering boost...need some input
so i've been a NA fanboy for the longest. but lately have been thinking that with the amount of money i'd spend building a kickass NA motor i could could build a killer boosted motor.
so here's what im planning on doing...
stock b18c1
peakboost top mount kit upgrading to the GT35R and bigger intercooler if needed
skunk2 intake manifold
itr cams and valvetrain
3'' exhaust
hondata s300 or neptune RTP whenever it's released
rc 550cc injectors
walbro 255lb fuel pump
i'd run it like this till additional funds start flowing in when i would really start building the motor.
sleeved and bored to 84mm
ls 89mm crank
manley or pauter rods
cp 9:1 pistons
ported head
bigger injectors (1000cc?)
clutch (not sure what would hold the power)
quaife lsd
etc etc etc
hp goals are 300whp for daily driving with quick spool and 500+whp on race tune. looking for 11-12sec et's in a full weight ej. possible with the turbo i picked? do i need a smaller or bigger one? feel free to throw out your suggestions. good, bad, whatever. this would be an ongoing project so im in no hurry.

gt35r would be goooooooood ball bearing perhaps? since when u got the money for this shit? and what mystery car you drive you sneaky bastard?
if possible id make compression near 10 to 1 for more power on less boost.
i think its funny snoopys makin a should i boost/what do yall think of this setup thread. i almost expected that link to go to an egay kit

i made this thread when i had the urge for boost. but living in cali i ditched this idea cause smog and whatnot would be a total bitch. so i reverted back to my all motor ways.
i might end up just selling my car though.

A GT30 or SC61 with get you into the power goals that you want.
The GT35 might be a little over kill for your power goals.
I've seen people make 340whp on 8psi with a GT30
1000cc injectors will do.

alot of these n/a guys sit here and talk about omfg n/a is the only way to go you get more respect for the hp you make.with the exception of the k20 you sound like an idiot saying this shit when you spent 10K on a motor to have a high redline and still make no power when you coul've spent 2k and increase your whp by 1.5-2x's over stock. and other idiots are like you get turbo lag. half of them don't know jack shit about what thye are talkign about with boost because they get their info from the interenet and magazines and have never even driven a turbo car. tell me what's faster. a 200whp civic with it's peak hp at 9500 rpms. or a turbo civic hiting maximum boost at 3500 rpms making 150 more whp than that other civic by 6800 rpms?
boost greater than n/a /conversation.

I agree...people whine about response and stuff...but if you match the turbo to the setup correctly (and for what you plan on using the car for) then response should not be an issue at all.
