Coolant over flowing (could be force induction related???) part 2
Im still haven’t an issue with my coolant system. I swap the radiator cap with a 1.3bar cap, new radiator, flushed system and new thermostat but my coolant keeps boiling over into the over flow tank.
The car doesn’t over heat at all, I can drive it for 50+minutes and it will drive fine when no overheating. But when I pop the hood the coolant over flow tank will be full…..N e 1 have any suggestion????
I was told a while ago, it can be the headgasket, im leaning more towards that now, im just gona replace it with a OEM honda gasket sprayed with copper.
I just wanted to know anyone else’s views on this and or see if anyone else had this problem, thanks.
Also it seems to only occur during boost, if I drive without boosting as much it doesn’t do it, but if I get on it, it does….
and some other shit i cant remember....
future plans...

is there any oil in the coolant or the other way around?
does it burn any coolant?

If I two-step your A$$ then you know I'm serious!
Nope, no blown head gasket symptoms whatsoever…
I mean some say coolant spilling over into the over flow tank is a symptom.
But its been doing this for a while now, and the car still runs strong, starts strong and everything.
People/technicians have also said try bleeding the system…..i never bleed it before because I didn’t know u had to, but im a give that a try tonight and see what happens.
If it’s the head lifting while boost-n what can I do, can I just torque the cylinder head down a lil more???
and some other shit i cant remember....

Hey mang I was having the same problem with my civic also an SOHC-V. Turbo, and this is what I did and since then I have not had any coolant overboil, just make a bridge connection on the thermostat/coolant socket so the fan kicks in and stays on as long as the car is running.
and some other shit i cant remember....

For the millionth time.........its ur headgasket. I had the same problem when i first boosted my car and it turned out to be the headgasket starting to go. Get a new stock HG and make sure u get new head bolts also (stock cuz ARP doesnt make them for our engine) and torque them down right and youll never have the problem again.

damn they don't make them? that sux I've run into this problem multiple times on my d series turbo cars and its always the same thing..headstuds and gasket and shes fixed. The SOHC have a lot of trouble with the head lifting during boost. I'd call ARP and hound them to make some studs for the accord motors...does AEBS make a set?

Im not sure if AEBS makes them but i doubt it. These companies only seem to make parts civic, integras and preludes......never accord. I guess because theres not that much people taking their accord to the next level but its still a damn headache!! I have to get a lot of stuff custom made or wait a long ass time till they "order" something for my car thats never in stock.
Damn, I never knew that, that’s some shit…
Yeah I hate looking for REAL performance parts for the accord, you’re limited like a motherflucker.
Theres no way to fix this problem???
Damn…

I had same problem on my ls turbo w/stock internals, changed thermostat, cap, flushed system= same thing. Then I was told I had a blown head gasket changed that and added arp head studs for added torching of head.Pulled out of the shop and same problem then they took motor apart and actually examined it turns out my piston rings were shot and 3 sleeves cracked :bh
