i wanted to ask you guys that run this on your custom honda turbo projects. i have an idea of how hondata works because its similar to dsmlink which i plan to get on my car. but i was curious, whenever you get your computers chipped to run crome or uberdata its supposed to let you tune your car right? well how do you tune it? does it still require an afc to control the injectors or how does all that work? and how do you know what chips to run in your computers?
hows it do that though? and how do you tune it? via laptop like hondata and dsmlink?
yes, like hondata. You have an eprom chip that is rewrittable. You have a programmer that burns the info onto the chip after you get the desired tune. You do it via laptop just like any other rom editor.
i would chose crome over uberdata due to crome having less bugs. I use crome in my car.

hey.....sounds nice. so you just need a logger cable to a laptop and your set for tuning and all that good stuff? i boosted a buddies 94 LS bout a year back ago and he has rc 440s with an afc. now were ready to get some better tuning tool to get a better tune out of it. what would you recommend for him? i was telling him about hondata cause thats the one ive heard most about, and when i read up on it i saw it was a lot like dsmlink, which i plan to get sometime soon. but if crome and uberdata does the same thing and is cheaper then might go that way. you honda guys always get cheap ass alternatives, no fair .
yea datalogging cable, programmer, and a wideband and you are set to atleast street tune.
crome and uberdata is free. I have crome in my car and its so so. Hondata is much more user friendly whereas you push a button and your at the next screen. Crome requires a couple more steps in order to do certain functions whereas with hondata you just push f10 and your there. And with these freeware programs like uberdata and crome you get bugs. Things like getting a CEL light and there being no code. Stuff like that. Uberdata tends to have more bugs than crome so i have read. You wont get that kinda stuff if you pay for a program. Crome also has a pay version. Its called crome professional and its a much better program. It would basically be hondata just with more options.
