Crowers cheaper Rods Opinions needed

The Econo Billet rods has anyone tried them I am after some rods for my sohc zc same specs as a d16a6. I am wanting to use them and some SRP pistons(8.5.1 to boost up say 20 psi.....Would those rods take the beating ??? Oh what else in the way of bolstering my engine would be needed to boost this high??Would just a block gaurd do??
http://www.crower.com/cat/import/honda/rods.shtml

There's a link to them

Thanks

The Crower "Econo" rods are essentially EAGLE rods. Why do I say this? Well...the Econo rods are made in China, so are the Eagle rods. They are then finished in the US, so are the Eagle rods. Look at the shape and design of the rods, they look exactly the same as the Eagle's. They both also handle approxiamently the same amount of load.

So my take on this? Buy the Eagle rods if you just want a big step up from OEM. Buy the ORIGINAL Crower's if you plan to make a 20+ psi turbo-boosted monster.

Honestly I would never put anything in my motors that say ECONO I run eagles even over Crower. Crower shit is junk just wait till a rod snaps, cam breaks, retainer breaks. All their import stuff is garbage. Go with stuff that works. As for pistons do you know what SRP pistons are? They are JE pistons that do not me the JE name specs. When they make Je pistons they get some that are a little out of spec so what do they do? They sell them cheaper under a different name. They are not as close of a tolerance as Je. If you are going to build your motor do it right the first time and dont worry about blowing it.

Really? Then why does SRP have pistons for d-series engines when JE does not?

I'm getting JE's for my D-series...it's not off the shelf though...
Call Crower or any reputable company that deals with internals and they can probably get you setup.

ROSS will do pistons, as does weisco's(Edyne)

Crower rods are one of the best out here, i'd get crower over eagle.

I would have to agree the original Crower Rods are among one of the best out there. I am a bit skeptical of the new "Econo" rods that crower puts out there. I'd rather stick with Eagle over the Econo Crowers at this point and time.

Plain and simple though, it'd probably be best to just save up a couple of hundred more dollars and go with the original Crowers. Quality assurance and all seeing as the cost and hassle of getting a motor rebuilt easily outweights a couple of hundred dollars saved by going with chinese rods.
