I have a 94 Civic Si with 180,000 k on it. I got the greddy full turbo kit on it.
only running 5 psi but i wanna turn it up. but dont wanna blow my high k motor. so what i wanna do is.. i have another d16 motor outta a CRX si...so i was gonna take that block and rebuild the bottom end with Forged pistons, rods, and a crank......then when all done, i was gonna do some head work ....but which head should i use ..the NON VTEC head from the CRX SI...or the VTEC head from the CIVIC SI.?????? and what all do i have to do to the head.
i wanna be able to run 12psi daily. and possibly higher for track. i already know what i gotta to do the fuel system..just unsure on the rebuild internals. ...so which head to usE? and do i have to resleeve it or will i be fine the way it is and running 12psi....or a little higher...
and if i have left anything out that i must do please let me know..or if i have listed something that is not necessary let me know.
please help with some feedback...thanks

At 12 psi on a d series, I'd definitely sleeve the block. You'll need a standalone EMS and a good tuner as well. You're right about the pistons and rods.
The d16 is 1 of hondas strongest blocks, i hear of people boosting 12 psi on the block with no problems, but like what was said above if you have the money go for it cause it will be worth it in the long haul, but if thgings are tight I dont think it will be a big deal

The D series block with block gaurd can see 15psi no problems, if going cheap go Eagle rods and SRP pistons make sure you get ARP headstuds when tightening the head do not reuse the stock ones!!! Hondata and race gas I'd take up to 18psi at the track... I boost 10psi on my stock block at the track without perfect tuning so yeah. Get a new moderator:
so if i was to do rods, pistons, and block gaurd..and whatever head work that is needed....and having vortech 12::1 fmu, 255lph fuel pump, 440 cc injectors...and Ice Pack igntion...would i be able to run 15 psi SAFE? if so ...approx how much horsepower is that at the wheels????
and how much will it cost about to do rods, pistons, block gaurd..and im not even sure what head work i gotta do...but approx how much will i be lookin at to spend for all the internal shit
figure around 10hp per lb. of boost give or take so your looking at roughly 150hp...prob. a little bit less but in the ball park...correct me if im wrong almighty turbo gods
what should i do for fuel management.....people say go for Hondata... there is no chance in hell id be able to tune that, and i live like 7 hours away from nearest place that would be able to do it well.
so what should i do..or would be Vortech 12:1 fmu be safe for 15psi?

gotta be honest with ya man, at 15 psi, you'll need to have some standalone EMS action. an FMU is too risky at that level. Hell, I think FMUs and AFC hacks are risky at any psi level (I fully realize everyone would like a standalone but can't afford it, I'm not rich myself).
its not totally about the money, its just i CANNOT tune one of those. dont know how and it looks very complicated, and like i said, i live FAR away....bout 7 hours from the nearest Hondata dealer.....or even just a shop that might know how to tune it.
so im outta luck...any suggestions?
