D16a6 turbo project with expected t28 and around 9-10psi boost..

I'm looking at starting a project on a d16a6 from a 89 crx si. I'm going to turbo it hopefully with a t28. I'm new to FI and was woundering if with that turbo and hopefully running that much boost do I need to build up the internals of the engine. Or can I get it together and then after slowly build up the engine. Or will that be to much for the d16??? Any advise would be great.

Soon to Be:
88 civic DX
w/ 89 d16a si
Turbo
intercooler

you could probably run 10lbs but your gonna need a good fuel mangement...Hondata or AEM...but these go for about 1000 bucks...if i were you i would run about 8 psi and use the AFC hack (Apexi S-AFC and 440 DSM injectors )

OK... and whats the most psi do you think I can run with stock internals, and a vortech fmu??? I will do the injectors and other stuff later when I save up some more. But I'm either looking at a t25 or t28 not sure yet.. thanks..

yea you can lower your compression ratio by gettin a thicker head gasket (cheaper)...also with the fmu setup i think the max you should boost is 6-7

true, however a thicker headgaket will throw his timing off.

I suggest building the engine (pistons at least) and tuning with an EMS. however, if you can't afford a standalone, then boost low/don't push it too hard/make sure you're running RICH.

OK.. I'll start low... either way i am thinking of doing the pistons and maybe the rods anyway. What would be the best compression to run, 9.1 or ? Beyond the fmu I am thinking of the afc, with 440cc injectors. I don't have a lot of money, but will be saving up and pieceing together everything... Plus what are cheap pistons that will work for this??? thanks for everyones posts and help.
