If you just want it so other people will know you have it, you might as well buy one of those blow off valve sirens :

well yes... it's a dumb question... but... only cause of the way you asked it... are you turboing for sound or for speed?

Yes you will hear it... I've noticed that my exhaust got quieter... and above 50% throttle, at any RPM any gear.... the turbo will be loud as hell as it spools. The best sound in my opinion is not the turbo, or the blow off... I LOVE THE WASTEGATE! God that damn thing sounds soo sweet when it opens up. And I am open loop... so I can smell it too! OH GOD... well I'm gonna go drive now!

I'm not a poser cuz, and I thought you might get that from the way I asked the question. THats aight though, I'm only asking b/c I love the way turbos sound, and your right that bov is sweet, I just wanna know if I'm going to be able to hear it myself, I could give two shits if anyone else hears it, well at least till I pop the hood to show the crying baby I just killed what I got. I just wanna know if the greddy sohc kit is as loud as a t3/t4 when spooling up . Thanks

Just remeber.... speed is relative. if you got a 17 second car and you bolt on a basic kit you will be lucky to see 2 seconds off you time... which is a 15 sec 1/4 so don't go racing Vettes, porches, and trans-ams ws6s, or turbo preludes for money

people can hear my turbo the second it spools i personally find it annoying because every ricer that pulls up next to me tries to rev on me. but yeah you'll be able to hear it, especially the waste gate.

how was it a poser question???
I think it is legitimate, I think almost everyone on this board loves the sound of a turbo, including me. I don't htink anything is much more intimidating than the loud whistle of a turbo, except maybe a 450CID muslce car lol!

Also, nothing sounds better than a beautiful open wasteate at WOT mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhmmmmmm.

and also, before you start calling him a poser and idiot and stuff, look at the thread name. Dumb Question but Curious....so don't post if you don't like what he's asking.

i don't think its a stupid question at all...

You will definatly be able to hear your turbo... i mean seriously, with all that power, whats the fun of it unless you can't hear it? its like getting a b18c5 in a civic hatch and using stock exhaust... get an aftermarket one so you can hear it!
