Emissions problem! Please help!

2000 Honda Civic EX
Greddy 15g turbo kit
Greddy type 31 intercooler
HKS SSQ BOV
5zigen fireball exhaust system
Random Technology Hi Flow Cat

I've had my turbo on for almost a year now and I've had no problems. Then, out of the blue, my check engine light goes on when I start my car a few days ago. It was a CEL 1 which is the primary O2 sensor I believe.

Just my luck, I have to have my emissions testing done by May 31. So me and a friend took the O2 sensor out and cleaned it off, stuck it back in, and reset the ECU. No CEL now.

So I go to emissions and I am rejected because the OBD system hasn't checked emissions on my car yet because I reset the ECU. I'm told by the emissions people that I have to drive the car for several days including highway driving then come back an get retested.

I have a few questions:

1. How many miles do I have to drive until the OBD system checks my emissions?

2. Why did the CEL come on in the first place? Is it because of the Greddy blue box? Why didn't it come on a long time ago?

3. If the CEL comes on again, what can I do to remedy the problem? What are my options?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

hmmmm...... I had the same set-up as you when I was in Houston. I passed the emissions test with flying colors. I never heard of the OBD taking days to check its own system. The first start, the ECU should've checked all the sensors and compensated for all the changes.

Interesting... well so far the CEL hasn't come back on yet. I'm going to bring the car in to get tested again tomorrow and see what happens. Wish me luck!
