error code: Fuel supply system

Hey guys,

I'm getting this check engine light code, and the CEL light comes on every now and then , e.g. like after 20 mins driving. I restart the car and it's gone.

"43. Fuel Supply System - defective or malfunctioning fuel supply system"

94 honda prelude
The fuel system of my turbo setup is:
- intank fuel pump (this replaces an inline fuel pump)
- fuel pressure regulator
- piggyback ECU which controls fuel and ignition and the
2 auxiliary (extra) injectors

Is this just a side-effect of using an intank fuel pump cos it's different from stock, or was it not installed correctly?

i had the same code last week. it was running too rich at partial throttle.

How do your plugs look?

that's a good point cos my car does run fairly rich at partial throttle. the CEL comes on usually at partial throttle when i'm cruising, but never when i'm stepping on it and boosting more.

gonna pull the plugs out and check tomorrow.

did your CEL stop coming on when you got it retuned? are you running a turbo setup?

I get the same thing, doesn't seem to affect my engine performance, my plugs are fine, it just comes up as an "undocumented code" pertaining to the A/F mixture. This happend before and after I took the car in to be dyno tuned. I think the ECU is just recieving information it's not used to and spits out a code. My plugs look fine as well and I haven't had any problems lately, except my waste gate actuator is starting to fail.

interesting...I've been getting the same code on my 92 prelude after a while of driving and mine is stock.

yea. and yea. It was getting too much fuel@partial so he took some fuel out and its good to go now.
