fav. turbo timer?
Getting ready to order a turbo timer... just wondering which ones you guys like the best. i haven't gotten to play with too many. i hate having to order this kinda shit online... i like to play with em first . Anyway, lemme know what ya think thans
I have a greddy, it's pretty nice, does what it's supposed to; let the turbo cool down. Pretty inexpensive, I think only the apexi is less, but I don't like how it looks. Really they all do the same thing, it just depends on which extra features you want.
Mods: Custome paint, shaved door handels and moldings, customs sound system, full air ride with three wheel full body kit, prelude motor swap with i/h/e/cams and cam gears. Roll Cage, diamond plated floor fiber glass dash
I am getting ready to get turbo soon and I want a timer what happan say I turn the car off and the timer says a 1:30, But I got to leave and I turn the car back on, I heard the car will shut off after that time is up? Is this true????
Umm. i couldn't really understand your question, but yes the turbo timer will shut off the car after u leave.
I had the apex unit and it was nice and compact. I wanna get the blitz one but everywhere i looked it was backordered. The blitz is nice because it has a built in boost gauge.

I know it will shut the car off when you leave. But say you want to turn your car back on while the timer is still running. Does the timer reset? Cause I heard the timer keeps on going and while you are driving your car will shut off due to the timer?
If i know im getting right back in , ill just leave the keys in and running , but if i shut it off and the timer is going and i decide shit i gotta go back out , ill stop the time and shut it off and restart the car or let it time down .
The timers have a power off or shutdown button , you can stop it at anytime.
Yes all timers really do their job, the difference in the others that make the price go up is options. I rarely use the options i have, but are nice sometimes, i have peak and hold speed in km and mph, peak and hold rpms, diff timer funtions, presets, thne ones i can set up , then an auto timer, which will sense vehicle load i guess and use the appropriate time according to what it reads. i use that most of the time, takes the guess work out.
also has like 1/4 mile timers a1/8mile timer,s 60ft timers i think . some other shit . and it looks cool too .

i just bought a black HKS type 1 for my project. doesn't look gimmicky like some, and has time-to-distance functions as well, like ITR206 mentioned. only other one with that is the blitz MSTT, but they're hard to find, and they're silver which i don't like in my black interior.
ps. for flip1199, you can pretty much find any tt on ebay if you watch for a few days.

if you turn the key back to on when the turbo timer gets done counting down the car does stay running. then the timer just resets itself when it is done counting down. when you put the ebrake down when the car is idling down with the keys out it shuts off the car so that know one can just hop in ang go for a joy ride.
get the apexi turbo timer. Has a built in a/f meter, voltage meter, and ofcourse the timer. Very easy to use, wire in, and cheap. You can pick up a brand new one for around $80 off of ebay.
Also, the apexi timer wont do that, if you get back in your car after it has been activated, you just put your keys in and go, and even if the time runs out it will keep running since your keys are back in. Also, the size of it is very small, very small.
A timer does exactly that, so unless one really catches your eye for one reaon or another, just get the cheapest one you can find. Most the time when I ask or hear people ask "what you got done" I rarely hear "turbo timer" so... get the cheapest one that works.
The Apex O2 is not nearly acurate but then again neither is the stock sensor. I get about .01-.02 difference between the read out on the Apex and the log on my pocketlogger. It is just there for a piece of mind.

I did it today to see what it does. when you have the key in on and put the ebake down the timer shuts off for a few seconds then turns back on so that the next time you take the key out it will stay running again.
