Garrett t3/t4 to big for my LS teg!!;(

Alright, so this weekend I decided to do a trial fitting test for my turbo. I took off the stock exhaust manifold(thanx to Bolt buster!) and put the revhard manifold on, and turbo unit. The compressor housing hits up against the bottom of the block and it looks like I may have to file down a piece of the block to get it to fit. I'm doing a custom setup so this may be the problem. All I know is the the compressor housing says .60 Is this too big? or has anyone had to do this? thanx

Thats a good size turbo but not too big, it should be good for 300-350 hp depending on the ar ratio of the exhaust housing, try rotating the housing, good luck.

the problem you encountered is easy to fix.

Get a grinder wheel from your household repair store (i.e., Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) and attach the piece to your drill. Spin up the revs on the drill and grind out the notching on the block. I had to cut that molded casting on my block to my compressor will fit. Every Honda I've seen with a T3/T4 has the notch cut out. Its easy. Just don't forget to plug up all open orifaces of your engine (intake, TB, exhaust ports, etc.) so that the metal shavings don't get in there.

Got it?

i'll be running the Maxrev manifold also with the T3/T04E, .57 and .63, soon when i finally get everything together. from what i've noticed i shouldn't have to modify the block in any way.

wow. thanks for the info fellas. When I put my kit together I just kind of figured that I'd have to do it. Every turbo Honda I saw had it done. Cool.
