Getting out of Limp mode

ok, I just got my wideband in and wanted to go ahead and start doing a little tuning.Im running just a down pipe right now and only have 1 O2 sensor bung on it. I switched to OBD1 so i just needed that one sensor. I took it out for a while and replaced it with my wideband. After about 10 minutes it went into limp mode and is running rich as hell. So obviously I took it out and replaced it with my O2 sensor. We attempted to reset the ECU by diconnecting the battery and turning on my lights and other things, but it still will not get out of limp mode. Any magical way that I can get out of it?
thanks

you are not im limp mode. if you were youd barely be able to drive the car. youre probably in open loop mode where the ecu reads stored information and doesent advanve the timing, dumps a shit ton of fuel in blah, blah, blah. to fix it...get a new ecu. when my lude was running like shit, i couldnt possibly believe that all these things could be wrong, and it not be the ecu so i ordered one from phearable.net and it fixed everything.

wel if thats the case...youre probably throwing more then one code. usually...if a car does in fact go into limp mode, ther is a huge problem with your ecu. replace it. but before buying anything expensive, just pull the codes and let us know what they are. i can help you out with getting information to diagnose the problems if i know what the codes are.

for my cel codes, i got to the last step on every flow chart i had which said "substitute a known good ecm". well it turned out that my problem was actually the ecu.

drill another hole in your downpipe and weld an o2 bung and instal the wideband o2 in there.
