capn will become famous soon enough
they prevent it by giving you a piggy back ECU to bump up fuel and stuff like that and 7 psi is a safe numer for hondas, and i havent heard of blowing ne thing at 7 psi

GReddy doesn't really prevent detonation, I mean sure the blue box is better than no engine management at all, but the only true way to prevent detonation is through proper tuning.

Yeah, that blue box is one notch above an FMU setup... It's just a band-aid until you can afford to get a proper engine management setup. You will gain horsepower, safety, and reliability with a true standalone

I have the greddy turbo kit for my 1997 Honda prelude. The blue box (FMU) is great. Detonation is kept to a minimum because there is NO fuel management tunning involved. Most guys blow their motors because they don't know how to tune the air/fuel ratio, therefore, the car can run too rich (which keeps detonation to a minimum, but decreases HP) or the car can run lean which can be disasterous. Anyhow, the moral to the story is that Greddy spent a lot of R&D time with this fmu. The kit runs at a good A/F ratio throughout the whole rpm band, therefore, there is no point upgrading to a hondata unless you are boosting above and beyond 7psi. (outside of what the kit was designed for)
