the y7 has lowercompression i think i should know i had one in my civic but im not sure... my brother just blew 2 pistons in his y8 and we are gonna put my y7 bottom end in it with his vtec head and see what kind of numbers we can get... you can convert the intake manifold to a ex with the sidedraft... i had one for sale but sold it. this way you can use intercooler piping from a EX civic turbo kit without a problem and gain some power over the 106 whooping Hp that the y7 produces.

Doing the mini-me setup (y7 bottom end + y8 head) creates highe compression (I think 11.4:1). Then you are going to turbo it? I hope you tune it well.

were using a thicker copper headgasket on it from summit.. dont know why the y8 blew a chunk off the side of the piston and scratched the shit out of the cylinder walls.. he was only runing the stock on a 35mm tital wg. 5.8psi then with a spearco intercooler which drops it lower.. it was running very rich with the 12:1 i think the y7 has a stronger bottom end. not sure the rods are like toothpicks lol...
