Head gasket and studs.

Anyone know where i can find the best prices on ARP headstuds? I need them ASAP. I also need a headgasket that will hold boost (2 blown factory ones so far). I'm looking at one made by cometic, but as always, i'm open to suggestions. Someone just broke into my car and i've got a lot of shit to replace, so price is an issue (a serious issue in fact..).

Thanks guys

Summit will prob have the best prices on studs.
i have seen stock gaskets push way more hp then you can think of without probs.
i run Cometic though and dont have any probs. it all depends on how you install it. if you do it wrong , you will have probs.

hmm..thanx joe for not logging out..

neway..the last time the gasket blew and we put the new one on I cleaned the surfaces of the head and the block extremely well..then used lacquer thinner and a rag and wiped them down. Then we used some aviation gasket cement stuff..its darrrrrkkk brown and really gooey nasty....does a real nice job..but it still managed to blow it somehow... So I'm guessing if we get a good cometic one and some new bolts or the arp studs it should work well, no?

Don't put any kind of cement or silicone on the damn thing...like itr206 wrote..... that's why you probably blew it
leave it the way it's supposed to be.......aluminum+gasket+aluminum= best way.......you put something else in between....you mess it up
I just use mr. gasket head gasket and no problems yet

and make sure you torqe the bolts right......from the inside out, and to the proper specs....another way you'll warp the gasket....

the shit we used is ungodly, my dad used to use the stuff when he built BMW and Nissan motors for boost...I'll be lucky if I can get the fucking head off the motor probably.

BUt neways, we orderd a Mr. Gasket headgasket and some ARP studs and I'm going to have the head surfaced and just put them straight on there...w/ no goop this time..and see what happens..thanx..

and yes I've been working on cars for at least 10 years, and I did torque them down properly, in two stages, thank you.
