help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was comming home last night......not even driving hard or boosting then i noticed smoke in the rear view mirror. The temp gauge started to climb rapidly so i pulled into a gas station. When i popped the hood....i noticed that my coolant hose burst and sprayed coolant all over. I had to duct tape it up and refill coolant till i got home.
Do u guys think it burst jus cuz it was old or beacuse of the turbo? Is there a better one i can get other than stock? Could it be the thermo needs to be replaced?

the turbo likely had nothing to do with it or very little to do with it, just buy a new one

i would guess it was probably just old. turbocharging won't change the pressure going through your cooling system, the water pump controls that.
i'd just get a brand new oem one (or stock replacement from napa or whoever sells that kinda stuff in the states)

oh and while you're at it, check the others to make sure. trust me, if one blew, the others aren't far behind (i went through like 2 or 3 on an 87 supra, all within 2 weeks)

well if u blew a headgaskted that could of caused extra pressure in the cooling system, which could of caused the hose to burst. But since u say you werent boosting i don't see that happening. Any loose of power?

The funny thing is......that my car didnt feel as powerful while under boost for the whole day, and since i have the problem with the coolant going over to the overflow tank......one of my friends said its the head gasket thats going bad.
My car will be in the shop again in about 2 weeks to get the 5 speed and i will change the headgasket.....should i just get stock HG?

replace the hose that bursted and also check all the other hoses. chances are those might be bad also.
also you might wanna replace the thermostat. it might of failed and its stuck in the closed possition. its less than $10 anyways.

i think the stock one is like 195 degrees or so.
if you go to autozone you might find one around 180 or so.
not sure but you could try. also if you go to one of those performance shops...speedworld on queens blvd for example (watch out they're expensive) they might be able to get a cold temp thermostat.

Hey, what part of new york do you live in. I had a friend that has a tallon (white one) that live here in Reno with me and he moved there not too long ago. His car is pretty quick. I only talk to him once in a while, long distance is a bitch, and he still racing up there. His name is Rj and he is phillipino, maybe you guys ran into each other, car is a firts gen, and has a sticker that say Xcelerate on the side, that is our crew. Have you seen him?

95accordlx...... Check your oil man. Low oil will also cause it to overheat, and maybe some engine damage too. Do you have a leak at the place you tapped for your oil feed?? Check check check.

My oil is leaking at the seal between the tranny and the engine......that will be fixed when i put in the new 5spd. also......what radiator do u recommend? Im gonna change the radiator, fans, thermo adn the auto to manual the same time.

BTW.....there was a guy with a white talon that was on the highway with us when we all went to the track........if ur boy runs 12's and has an afc on the dash....then it might be him.
