high revs

I'm planning on getting skunk2 valve springs and retainers so I can make my B16 rev up to 10g's being that it'll have the proper fuel and timing to rev all the way up there. Is this a wise idea with a turbo, or is it not good with turbo?

I think alot of people will disagree with such a high rpm choise with turbo. I think unless you are planning on spending BIG bucks then i wouldnt even consider it your turbo may have trouble pushing enough air for such high rpm. hmmm i hope someone who knows more about this posts some info as i would also be interested in hearing others opinions.

can your turbo take those kind of rpms and still stay efficient and make power. . . . prob not .
Id say it would be nice to get thema anyway to have them , but remember , you still have that factory ecu prob and its not gonna let you rev that high even with those springs. now disable the rev limit and you might see kinds close to that . my friends type R still sees nice boost all the way up to 9k . , but it depends on a few other variables.

So the T3/T04e is not efficient all the way up to 10g's? I'm gonna be running the Zdyne gold ecu (similar to hondata) with 450cc injectors and a 3bar map sensor. Max boost (track) will be 14lbs. Is this ok, or should I lower my max revs to 9g's?

In order to make power that high up in the rpm range, you will have to get a cam that was designed to do it. All the cams that I've heard of that would make power up there are all designed for serious NA applications. You are probably going to lose power, assuming something doesn't blow up first. I would be worried about those pistons and rods revving that high with boost.

You can make a b16 rev up to 10gs... seen it done... The main concern you'll have is getting a turbo with flow rates that will keep up with that... Off the top of my head I'd have to say that an 04E Compressor housing with a T3 Turbine housing won't support that kind of flow... Worst case scenario is that your boost will drop at higher RPMs because of the turbo hitting it's maximum flow rate... Example: The boost might start to drop from 14 to say around 11 as you start to hit high RPMs... No biggy, but if you want to maintain full boost, you'll need a bigger turbo with more flow...

I hope this helps a little...

Thanks for the replies, it sounds like nope it's a no go with the T3/T04e. I'm keeping the revs to 9g's at the most.
