hondata or votech FMU!

i am confused about the hondata/ FMU thing! so i you buy a hondata do you need a vortech(or any other kind) FMU?
And what if, there isn't any dyno places around here? Any way i am tune it myself?

thankx

Hondata takes place of the FMU, becuase it is itw own fuel mangement unit .
i wouldnt mess with it yourself unless you are expoerienced with tuning and familiar with the software, also you would need a wideband . You could make a lethal mistake by messing weith it yourself

Yep, the Hondata does in fact replace the use of the FMU. If you don't know of a dyno near you... go to the Hondata site and look for dealers and then find the dyno nearest you.

sorry for asking a stupid question but, why can't i just use like the vortech FMU instead of the hondata? I have no clue when it comes to this part of the turbo set up! And do i need bigger fuel injectors? I am only looking at boosting 6-7 psi!

thankx

what if i can't afford the hondata? Will the vortec work fine? If so, what would i need to use w/ the vortec FMU?

thankx

definatly do not want to "skimp" on the fuel/managment portion of it ...

injectors and a fuel pump are very important ... the stock fuel pump can easily crap out due to it having more load on it, then it was meant to.

Hondata isnt a complete ECU, its a OEM OBD1 ECU hats chipped for a reburnable Eprom, then the Hondata box is external of that, Hondata is a piggyback system, but as close to a standalone as a piggyback can get... . . if that makes sense

another option is to use a AFC, it basically intercepts the signal from the MAP sensor and tweaks so that your setup can work with the stock ECU.

An alternative would be Uberdata .. it's basically "free", and is like Hondata.

Click here for more info on Uberdata

Has anyone used the Greddy E-manage or are you familiar with it? How does it rate for fuel management?
