how to avoid detonation

lets say i am running a f-max kit on a h22a4 with a built bottom end....

and my compression is 8:4:1...and i am running 15 psi of boost

will detionation be advoided because of the low compression???

or do i have to retard the ignition timing???

capn will become famous soon enough
well because of your low compression it should be safe, but if you have an intercooler that will help to because the charge would be less dense, and retarding ignition is always a good idea just to be on the safe side
