How Do I Boost My Stock Turbo?

i'm getting a WRX soon and i really dont know much about turbos, so hopefully you guys can teach me? the WRX comes with a stock 13lbs turbo, to boost it higher than what it comes @ (i'm not sure what it comes stock, i guess i need psi guages?) do i need to build the engine a bit then bye a boost controller? help me out, i cant wait to start working on that car. i love turbos!

the car builds boost and it peaks around 14.5 lbs. (at 0 elevation) but drops off after 6000 rpms or so.

you don't need to build your engine at all, but if your gonna raise the boost and keep it there at high rpms (with an ebc or mbc) then you should address your A/F ratio with some tuning though.

I'm pretty sure there is a cat right before the turbo on the WRXs. Bypassing that, and getting one of those 'stage xxx' chips that remap your fuel and ignition and can electronically control boost would help a lot. I-club is a good site for information on the WRX, but there are a lot of sitffs over there.
