How is your turbo car running?

As can be seen in my sig I'm in the process of going turbo. I already have the rods and pistons 9:1 cr and I'm buying a sleeved block. Also will be going with AEM-EMS. My question is how is drivablity Turbo vs Non-turbo.

Mine was fine, until I tore it apart. It's getting tuned on tuesday, using hondata and 72# injectors. Drove like stock though

depends on how well it's tuned, and what you're using (hondata, afc, etc). my hondata tune runs pretty good, just a few little nuances i had to learn, like if i'm in it hard and let off completely to shift, then step back on it, it bogs. so now i have to stay on the throttle a bit during shifts. you can dial this stuff out with lots of street tuning if it's really important to you, but it costs money unless you can do it yourself (which is not likely if you're getting hondata).

basically you just accept that your car is going to change when you turbo it. it takes a bit of time to learn, just like when you first got the car, but it's worth it.

mine's factory turbo so it runs great. A little rich (for safety's sake) but its runs just fine.

And thats what people need to remember. It's not a stock honda so don't expect stock honda charactoristics.

I miss my car driving stock so much. Now it sounds like a mac truck, bogs alittle but still is so fast! Thats the best part and that BOV sound. But if I had to drive it everyday I wouldnt.

My turbo Si ran good. I loved that car! I've got plans/thoughts on what turbo Honda to do next. I'll be joining the darkside in the next couple of years again.

What AEM EMS tuner are you planning on going to? Jason (the creator the the EMS) has said time and again that there are only 3 tuners he'd recommend. One is out in North Carolina or somewhere around there. One is in Portland, Oregon at Torque Freaks (his name is Sean), and the 3rd is a guy from Texas. Oh don't forget the creator too. With that in mind? Where are you going to tune at?

I think I remember reading here on the site that Sean from Torque Freaks in Portland, OR flew to the East Coast to visit the tuner over there to help him learn some things. Either way... good luck.

I was having a little bit of problems with my VAFC hack tunned 6.5 psi daily driven 94 accord.

Now, I can run 10 psi all day and travel out of town in it without any issues. Also, there is more tunning needed. Still need more tuning.

I ran a 14.5 in Fallon, NV with 91 octane, full interior and 215-4017 tires. I think with some slicks, higher octane, more fuel, and better tunning in lower elevation maybe I would hit a high 12. Oh, by the way fallon is 5k feet above sea level.

That is the only nhra apoved track close to where I live.

I'm running 7psi..... a vafc hack with 450cc dsm's .... and it runs soo good
and mine doesn't backfire or bog.....nothing, just like stock....and it idles good.... and i didn't even have it tuned yet....it's running a little rich for sefety but I don't even know if I will have it tuned, because everything seems to run soo perfect.....
it used to bog at higt rpm's but I just changed my plugs and that was about it......since then it's like a dream

I see a lot of guys getting their stuff tuned and they have problems and theb they gotta go back and get it tuned again and spend some green .....and then again.............that's why I don't even wanna go because I'm worried that it's gonna run worse then now...and now it runs perfect........ but I guess that just depends from the shop you go to......because some of them do that just so you come back and spend more green to have it tuned again .....and they could do it the first time

just my 2 cents

I've had mine boosted for almost a year now and for the most part it runs great. Its running ~6psi with hondata to control fuel. Used to have problems with my turbo/exhaust manifold bolts getting kicked out (my cars polite way of saying "wtf were you thinking"), but a little hightemp threadlocker and extra torque fixed that. Only complaint is on the highway my a/f will occationally drop to like 10:1 after a couple hours of driving. Not sure if thats a hondata issue or my aem adjustable fpr acting up.

b16ahybrid: i too would like to know how much boost you're running
