intercooler question

ok so NX makes this n-tercooler think that you place on the side of your ic or on top of it and it cools the temp of the air
now i have a question
wouldnt setting up a dry system right before the intercooler or doing this water spray idea thing and set up 2 or 3 different purge and fire locations on the ic be more efficient
i mean i know people around here who i can get nitrous kits for like 250-300 but only me so nobody ask me to get something for them because this guy wont give me alot cheap
(im good friends with his nephew)
would these ideas work better than spending 500 for this n-tercooler??
anyone think my ideas are cool?? lol
well just let me know
thanks

anothter thing

ok since this is the turbo section of the board and i started the post im gonna add a few more q's
now on the site i have a guide to custom turbo he uses actual metal pipe... now i was thinking of heat resistent flex hose from turbo to ic and from ic to pipe with bov connected to tb
can someone tell me if this is a good or bad idea
the site is http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.html
now he also says something about the fmu and i saw on another post here about running rich doing this????
i think i misunderstood and im curious if a 12:1 fmu would run my b18 rich
well thanks for the help

flex piping

whoa....flex piping throughout?

IMO its a bad idea......

I thought about it too (to save some time in the routing of my piping), and ran some info by a physics professor and he decided that it would be a bad idea.

simply to sum it up....

As pressure increases, it exerts a force on the inner wall of the piping. As it increases it begins to expand. Because of this expansion, the pressurized air is able to travel at different rates throught the piping (due to the sections of piping that yield to the changes in pressure more easily). Then you get the catastrophic inverse of it when the pressure changes (i.e. no boost). Contraction of the tubing.....

If you decide to use his method....the pipes themselves are only $60 (I priced them about 2 days ago). Worst case scenario....you'll have to buy more pipes (at a few bucks). Take your time and be patient (from uaoboarder)....it'll be worth it in the long haul...as for the FMU stuff.......thermalfi'd16 and uaoboarder have things figured out...check out their posts....or give em a pm (sorry guys...it just seems like you have most of the answers to this sho-member's questions)....

peace and good luck!!!

don't use the flew piping. i personally know some one that took that shortcut with a turboed b16 and the piping busted off. not too sure about the dry shot considering i have a real bad headache from my concussion and can't think :

just spray it into the motor, you'll get more gains no, but yes the nitrous would be more efficent. personaly i wouldnt do it, it wont help that much, just rout your windsheild washer squirters into the intercooler
