Intercoolers!

I don't got A/C or power steering so I got ALOT of room in my engine bay. I got a 95 Civic DX. How exactly does an intercooler work and could it add hp to my car or does it only do good if I got turbo? How much would a beginners upgrade cost? Thanks...

Also, what is a good website or store to get upgrades cheap? What are good brand reccomendations for intake and upgrades? Specifically cold air intake, header, and exhaust system... Thanks...

from what i understand intercooler help the turbo cool down from overheating becuz turbo cuz alot of heat and turbo and intercooler go hand and hand... i think you can add a intercooler into your car without a turbo but it will be a waste and people will mock you when you dont have turbo and just a intercooler

intercoolers are only used on turbocharged cars, read up in the turbo section on this site, reading is good info and can help you out alot, dont mind the comments that may come from a post like this, everyones been there. just read up and you'll get all the information you want.

an intercooler is used to cool the charge/air generated by the turbo before it is delivered to the engine. When in doubt, google it or hit www.howstuffworks.com .
