my new car is a b18b powered 97 hatch, i know its a civic... but at least part my of my teggy is still living on. anyways im going with the drag kit, 3" downpipe and exhaust, it has pulleys on it already (whoopie..) and act stage 1 clutch and plan on 8 psi daily on stock internals but tuned well. I have fuel rail and pump already so that helps. what would be a good time since this is my first swapped car im kinda clueless on what to expect
Nah not low 13s more like 13s if your lucky unless your running slicks b18b is what 140 hp + 8psi = 80 more hp if well tuned and good setup, so 220 hp bit under 190 whp with some lightening you would definitely run low 13s with good traction. Anyway goodluck this is only my opinion.
oh god, don't listen to that character... you can be in 12s with slicks.... the best thing you can do is learn to launch it. If you get a great launch on slicks you can easily pull 12s...
a b18b can accept up to 20 psi of tuned, rich run boost... ask st00pid, his b18b hatch ran a low 12 (11s were possible but he didn't have a cage to run it, if he did he'd be kicked off the track) so yeah... if you get hondata and tune everything really nicely at about 10 or 11 psi, you should be set.
That will get you into 12s... IF you just slap on the kit, you'll run 13s... do some tuning you'll do low 13s, run slick and really, REALLY tuien it and you're in 12s.

At 8 psi will hit 230hp easy on a teg you will run mid 13s with the ls motor you dont need all the hp in the world just cuz its on of the few honda motors with some low end tq in a hatch you will see a high 12 sec pass every now and then untuned with drag racing tires. Do the honda data and up grade your intake manofold you will run 12s all day. But if i were you I,ed sell you b18b motor and go with a b20.

If you read this character's post closely, you'll understand, that i made it clear, as to how LS engines can run far more than 8 psi on stock internals, so why limit yourself:

as far as weight reduction there is no power streering or a/c and when i go to the track i will take out back seat and rear panels and it has a c/f hood so i say about 50 pounds saved?
i also plan on getting skunk2 intake manifold and jg throttle body, hondata in the winter
the reason why im only doing 8 psi is cuz i just don't want any risk at all of harming the motor till i get it resleeved and pistons and rods then i plan to do 17 psi daily
