LS/Turbo bottom block rebuid

Ok heres the deal! I have a 1991 integra LS b18A1 block in my garage that i been dieing to rebuild. All I am concerned about is just building the bottom block first. I've gathered up a list of everything that i will need to do to the bottom end. I need you guys to help clear up any confusion on my mind.

Heres a list of what I know for a fact i'll be getting:
1.Forged rods
2.Forged pistons (CR)8.5:1
3.V-tec oil pump
4.V-tec waterpump
I REPEAT! All I am concerned about is the bottom block, so if I left out any thing that i will have to buy please let me know.

Now!,Heres the confusing part. Basically i need to be cleared up about everything that needs to be taken to a machine shop for.

List of Question:

1.V-tec Oil squirters-Will i need to have them put in and will it be difficult?
2.The crank-What does the machine shop do when they balance your crank and how much?
3.GSR block gridle-Do i really need to get one ? I thought the Ls has a block girdle.
4.I know I will need to have the cylinders walls horned. How much does the machine shop charge to horned a block?

I hope you guy's can help e out and answer my question and fill in anything i left out about building my bottom block

Are you going LS/VTEC turbo? If not then why do you need a VTEC oil and water pump? Why do you need the VTEC oil squirters if you aren't going with a VTEC head?

Have you ever thought about this... I would if I had cash.

Your B18A block... resleeved with iron sleeves (Darton for instance), bore out the block to 85mm (from 81) which would give you about the equivalent of a 2.02L. Forged rods and piston compression ratio of 10:1 (9.5:1 if you want a little tuning space), balance and blue print the whole bottom end, and of course ARP head studs with a metal head gasket.

As for the prices a machine shop charges...call them up. Tell them you'll supply the parts for the install, and tell them what you want.

tech wrench

I would use the vtec water and oil pump also. They will supply you with a higher oil and water pressure. as for the rest it looks like you are off to a good start.

first off 8.5:1 C/R is a bit low, unless you plan on running lots of boost. what turbo are you using?

if lots of boost i recommend you consider resleeving for strength, though it's not needed on most setups. the stock sleeves will do fine to 300-350 WHP for awhile.

you don't need VTEC oil squirters, the aftermarket pistons should provide more oil lubrication.

balancing the crank is a good idea, cost depends on the shop.

only the B18C1/5 have block girdles from the factory. you don't need one unless going to rev past 7200-7400 often. i'd look into the Z-10 girdle instead of the GSR/ITR OEM one. if you use the OEM one you'll need the mains to go with it as a set.

honing you can do youself if it's just a crosshatch honing to accept new rings (the tool is $50-80 and you can use an electric drill on low speed to crosshatch hone the sleeves). if the bore is out of round and an actual honing needs to be done to make the sleeves all the same then it may cost $10-20 per cylinder bore.
