Alright, if you are getting 219 whp on a civic si n/a, then you are prolly running high compression. This means you will need alot of tuning to have the high compression safely coincide with the boost. The first maintenence you will need to do is to tune the hell of the car or else BOOM.

what's a good boost for a highly tuned b16a I was just informed

that I got to tune my engine for turbo. I probably got to use lower

compression pistons/ I heard before sumthing like 10-12 psi

can it be higher?

please help

If you are getting 219whp all motor, then you probably need to go in the opposite direction for a turbo. I imagine that you have high compression pistons, so you may need to lower that to something like 9:1 or 9.5:1 to run a reasonable amount of boost.

I imagine that you also have some pretty aggressive cams. You may need to go back to stock or get some aftermarket cams that are designed for turbos. I don't have any first hand experience with this, but from what I've read, if you have very aggressive cams with high overlap and then run a turbo, you end up blowing the boost right out of the exhaust ports...

Also, if you are trying to run high levels of boost (like 10+psi), then you should look into resleeving your engine.

As for maintenance, it all depends on your dealer. Some may know how to deal with a turbo and some may not. You only need to get the oil changed every 2000-3000 miles with a turbo, so you should be fine with your 1500mi oil change routine.

If you are serious about boost, then don''t bother with a greddy kit. Take a look at the rev-hard kits... www.revhard.com

if you've got 219 currently NA, I would personally stick with that route. But if you've got deep pockets, time, and don't mind switching out/parts then go for the new FI route. You'll need to lower the compression some, and like kommon_sense said, change the cams to stock or aftermarket ones designed for turbo'd engines in mind. Tuning will be key, I recommend a standalone management system such as Hondata, because with a turbo set-up, you can't run bigger injectors (neccessary) with a stock ECU. You'll need at least an FMU, I recommend a standalone system tho, such as Hondata.

good lord! why?!?!?!?1:eek: for every oil change i do, you do two already! why not change oil like every 3,000 miles? it saves you time and money. plus, the engine doesn't feel like you're baby-ing the car much.

yo I change my oil like that becuz 1: I don't drive my car that much becuz it eats gas like a juiced V8 and when i do drive it I drive it hard! I got alot of Drag Racing parts on and in my B16A
which means I barely have a Redline and my parts are all pretty much light weight / and it revs fast.

and for 2: since I'm not a racing mechanic and not tearing my engine down every time i gotta change my oil & fluids in my car alot.

i've seen people making over 300-350whp, and they get gas mileage like 20mpg. what the heck did you do with your car anyways? what mods do you have so far?
