Motor Blew in October

Just to let you guys know...my motor blew. Cylinder walls are missing in the size of a rice gran in cyliner 3 and 4....the block itself between cylinder 3 and 4 has a chuck about 5cm deep. It was dynoed at 330whp@12psi and a a/f ratio of 12.6:1 A/F......

Pistons and head are fine...Just the block that is gone....

Sucks...just before i was going to buy my Hondata S200. Drove with the hack for almost a year and no problems....until boost spiked and a big cloud of smoke. Car died on the freeway. Reved in 1st gear to 4000rpm-5000rpm and had no power to even drive.....

Going to do a H23VTEC and sell my lude......

Going all-motor H22 civic coupe. Setup in progress:

H22A
Sleeved
11.5:1 JE with Total Seal rings (Street Drivability)
Eagle Rods
Crane All-Motor race cams
Skunk2 High Compression valves
Crower Dual Valve springs and Titanium retainers
Mild port and polish
Hondata S100 on P72

Setup will be in 92-95 Civic Coupe DX

My cousin is a distributor so I'll get these parts at a good price.
Have some of the stuff already...just need more...should be done in time for Nopi Drag Wars for here in GA........

Will you be using 100octane daily for that compression and boost level? doesn't sound practical for tuning purposes to use such high compression. I know that the ALL-Out dragsters go that route, but for street and daily use? also, why all motor cams with a build turbo setup?

I'll post some pics up as soon as it gets back from the photo shop.

I was using a Trust manual boost controller and it spiked to 22psi.

To put it simple.....Boost spike is when the boost shoots pass the amount of PSI you're set for. Example is when you have tuned your car for 12psi and one day when you are racing, the boost level reached 22psi.

But what causes it to shoot past the set psi....?

how could the pistons be fine ?> but the sleeves have gauges like you explained? makes no sense. usually the piston will melt 1st or in turn cause the sleeve to get fucked up, but the sleeve need seomthing to damage form the ways i have seen .

BTW the question on octane, we have run quite a bit higher compression on 94octane for NA setups for the street.
