are you talking about the rotor?

are you installing a after market ignition? well, if you are, you gotta take the rotor off, and the dust cover, then take out the coil, and connect the wires from you ignition to those wires. thats why the external coil cap has that drilled hole, so u can run the wires through. To take the rotor off, i've found it easieast if you take off the whole distributor, most of the time its just a phillips screw.. then after u do all that, just pop ur new external coil dist. cap back on, and ur all set. dont forget the new seal they give you. hope this helps.
