So the car is blowin a lot of smoke when I get hard into boost, and its been boosted for 2 years now so its time for a rebuild. Problem is, previous owner turbod the car and I dont know what kind of turbo it is. This is all the writing/engraving I could find on the side of the turbo:

Serial Number: KD0601532
Is turbocharger a brand, or are they just stating the obvious?
I need help choosing the right rebuild kit as several people have warned me that there are some not so good kits out there.
I am pretty mechanically savvy, could I do this myself? If not how much do shops usually charge for a rebuild?
He's not Japanese, he was referring to the languages he can speak. He's capable of speaking English, can probably curse and ask for a beer in Spanish and has heard his girl moan in Japanese in bed
