non v-tec d16y7 turbo
I have a 1995 civic dx but instead of having a d15 it has the 1996 16y7 non v-tec. I dont know how may miles are on the motor, i just recently bought the car, and the guy i bought if from wasnt sure either. I really want to boost it but im not sure what all i need to do to make that possible. i know i need to build the motor up but what all do i need to do? i could use links, tips, advice or anything you can offer. I was going to swap the motor but i think i would rather save the money it would cost to swap and just build this motor up.

it's because you're too lazy to read the stickies which cover everything you're asking. this question gets asked so many times a week it's rediculous. if you can search then you can't build a turbo car
you want your motor to be turbo ready then throw a turbo on it and get a shop to tune it for you. but first you need to research
turbo
turbo manifold
injectors
map sensor upgrade
full exhaust
fmic
fuel pump
clutch
lsd
tires
......

i depends on the condition of the motor and the power output you want

the motor runs great, no knocks, pings, no leaks at all. i am not sure how many miles are on the motor. Im pretty sure its a junkyard motor since its not the right motor for this car.even at that it runs great like i said. Im not sure how much power i want to put down, im pretty sure the stock D16y7 is rated factory at 102 i would love to be ATLEAST 250+ or it wouldnt even be worth it. i would love to hit close to 300 but i know that will take alot more work, and would probably be hard to do with this motor. So based on that what am i looking at?

you won't know the condition of the motor till you do a comp and leakdown test
and do you want 300hp or 300whp

do you see a vtec solenoid anywhere on your engine? but honestly why do you need a vtec?
but if you really want to know just take the valve cover off the car and look at your came lobes. it's takes 15 minutes

Non vtec turbo??
Yeh i ran the vin today on and its a 98 dx,And yeh ive drove a vtec D16Y8 and then this and i dident notice really any diffrence,Ive delt with dsm most the time cause my first car was a 2g 99 gsx so i never had to worry about it cause it dident need much work to put a bigger turbo but it kept blowing lines off and then got crank walk it was a damn headacke,But when i go to boost this can i use the stock block and head with a turbo kit i know i need fuel injectors and all that good stuff i just want to know what turbo would give me the most power outta this motor without doing to much to it cause i aint looking to race this car i just want a quick street car for driven daily, intill i get enough cash to build another car just for racing....

ok if you got it that way then never mind go find the prick that sold it to you and beat him over the head for making your car look like shit under the hood. he probably didn't even use engine paint.
