oil light

I have a 04 s2k and i got done putting the turbo in my car and put oil in it put about 6 1/2 quarts....so when i started it the oil light came on i turned it off right away, checked the oil dip stick and it read full,started it back up and it was still on but the car runs fine....does anyone know what this could be?

Did you hook the wire back up to the sender after installing the oil feed line?

You probably had the oil pan off to install the return line. Maybe the sump tube got disturbed, or the oil pressure sender went bad or got some shit stuck in it. Did you put on an oil cooler by chance?? What size feed line are you using to the turbo, and does it have a restrictor fitting on the turbo? I had a similar problem, and it was caused by an oil cooler I installed (the wrong way). I tried to make one out of a tranny cooler and all my oil pressure was going to it because I didn't have a restrictor on it, causing my oil light to come on when the car was idling. I bought a brass gate valve and put it in-line and shut it a little bit, and it fixed it. But I also had a guage so I could see what was really going on, not just the stupid light.

didn't have the pan off the return goes into the oil drain plug.....yes it has a restricter on it......could the oil filer be bad or clogged
