turbo guru's.....what psi is safe on slightly built ls

Ok I don't want to sound stupid, but, I'm not a huge expert on turbos. So, I have a 99 teg ls, ported, polished, eagle rods and pistons (rings). and titanium valve train, everything else is stock I wanted to know a safe psi to run and a good turbo set-up to use. thanks. Oh and a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch.

yeah

well I hate saying i have a "fully built" motor, it just sounds stupid and cocky to me I know i'm dumd, but it's not fully built just slapped some stronger rods and pistons in there haha. but yeah it's a strong set-up, it wasn't all fun building either. but now i'm ready for turbo and i know how to install, i'm just not too sure about set-up and a safe psi.

That will depend on the turbo. A T3 at 14 psi is nothing compared to an SC34 at the same boost levels. You got to figure out what turbo you want to use first, but anyways, you should be good for 300whp or so.

Yeah, if it was sleeved, I would say fully built. Make a hp goal first, then find a turbo that will efficiently make that hp in your car. DONT go ghetto cheap on engine managment. Man up and buy an EMS or a good equivelent, it will take you further safely.

you should be asking how much HP, not how much boost. . aye aye aye. id say youd be safe with 400ish whp on that set up. just make sure the tune is good though and the sleeves will last.

I'd say if the block is reasonably low miles, good compression numbers and everything was put together right you could probably run 8-12PSI of boost safely, but I'm an all motor guy, and you'd get more help in the Turbo forum.
