Zex Flywheel???

Hey guys what's up? Right now I am in the process of purchasing everything for a great turbo setup on my 2000 EX. Anyway I plan on getting the greddy kit whenever it comes out and boosting it at about 6psi. WhaT I need to know is the lightened flywheel, the one that is 10.36lbs a good flywheel and if it will suit my needs. I have heard people say not to get too light and some people do not like alumminum. I saw the zex which is a lightweight chromoly at around 10-11 and thought it would be good. Any thoughts?

I also found a JUN lightweight flywheel for ten bucks cheaper and it is also one piece forged chromoly at about 10lbs also.

So any info on either of these flywheels and any comments suggestions would be most helpful.

How about a clutch. I am probably going to go with ACT but I need to know which one. I want something that is not to harsh, fairly easy to engage and has more clamping power. ANy input on either of these would be great.

Thanks,

BPP

I went with the clutch masters light weight flywheel it is not yet installed yet so i dont personally know how it will react with my setup but they stand by it very well. Just dont get anything too light like u said. The Zex sounds like it would do fine- as long as its forged it should hold up real well. As fr the cltch i would go with a clutch masters stage 3 for your setup.. The stage 3 has a holding capacity 110% over stock! If u plan on boosting more than 13pounds go with the stage 4.

Tegasaurus will become famous soon enough
I got the fidanza flywheel with and ACT XTSS clutch (Xtreme pressure plate with organic street disc).

The fidanza flywheel is advertized at 7.5-8.5 pounds. I'm gonna walk into the produce department of albertson's tonight and weigh the son-of-a-bitch on the fruit scale

I'm getting the clutch, flywheel, and new 3rd gear synchro set installed on friday, so i'll be sure to give you a review about how well it drives etc.

Hey guys thanks for all the replies.

I talked to ACT and for my application, they suggested the HDSS with the organic street clutch. They said that it would be more than enough for what I am going to run. They said that that clutch can clamp 250 ft/lbs of torque.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,

BPP

zex flywheels are garbage. I run either Exedy or Clutchmasters(made by the same people) they are the best. The reason for upgradeing flywheels on a boosted car is not for lightning it is for durability. They are much stronger. Get a ACT xtss or a clutch net clutch. A hd plate will only hold about 225hp
