Updated, only have 44.

Picked up Michael Clayton, I Am Legend, Dan in Real Life, and Enchanted the other day, pretty good movies. I Am Legend and Enchanted are by far the best transfers of those films.

Without any spoilers, how did you like the alternate ending for I Am Legend?

Without any spoilers...I liked it a lot more than the original ending, however, it's still not as good as the book. For sure worth a rental to see the alternate ending, it reduces the amount of 'suck' significantly. The movie is spectacular up until the last segments where it all goes down hill.

The alternate ending actually gives the film more character, IMO.

I would agree. To me, the original ending was kind of a downer, and the new ending is much better. I watched it on DVD, would you recommend picking it up on Blu-ray?

Have you read the book?

Yea, I've read the book.

If you liked the movie enough to watch it a few times over, then it's worth the purchase on Blu-Ray, if only for Demo material. So far the best movies I've seen for demo material are:

I Am Legend
PotC 2
Ratatoullie
Cars
Enchanted
Planet Earth
The Simpsons Movie

Those are all amazing and 'must owns' IMO if you're into High Def media. All visually stunning.

Oh, and if I pick up I Am Legend, it will be my inaugural Blu-ray purchase.

I think I'm going to get Planet Earth too...

If I remember correctly the ending in the book sucked .

*****SPOILER TO THE BOOK********

Doesn't it end with him just shooting himself in the head? Maybe I'm wrong. I will have to read it again.

I would say, for your first Blu-Ray purchase, pick up Planet Earth. You'll get a LOT more viewing time out of it, and it will amaze you every single step of the way. Every disc is just wowsome.

As for the book, the ending of the book was great because:

SPOILER

Neville realizes that he is now a monster to vampires, much like they were to humans in the past. He comes to find out he is no longer a part of 'society' and that this is the clear evolution to the human race, the 'next step'. In the movie, they never really illustrate that point. The book is largely based around what it means to be human, and how neville deals with that, the movie deals with the 'human vs other' plot more than anything else. The book had much more internal conflict with neville.

But yea, planet earth. Win.

Just picked up No Country for Old Men last night, pretty good transfer, great movie IMO. Loved it. It's worth checking out for sure.

For Arnold Buff's, Predator and Commando are due out in April, I'll probably be picking up both. Sixth Day is also coming out, but I hate all his 'newest' work. Ugh. Just waiting on Twins and Kindergarten Cop to come out.

Predator is awesome, and so in Kindergarten Cop.
