All HDMI cables are created equal. You can pick one up there for like $14 shipped, and it will perform just as good as a $70 Monster cable. don't get ripped off.

werd.
i think when i was in cleburne with jesusy0 the local new station did a test of HDMI cables.
they tested 3 brands between $20-$110
they all performed the same. and the audio engineer emphasized "distance" as a key factor in quality. meaning if ur gonna rund a 200ft HDMI cable the picture is gonna suck compared to a 6ft HDMI cable

Not necessarily! While the difference between a $20 and a $70 cable is certainly not the $50 worth as the price tags would lead you to believe, there is a small (marginal) difference in quality. It's more like a $5-$10 difference though.

No, there isn't a difference. 6ft cable vs 6ft monster cable will yield no difference. The reason is it's a digital signal. Saying there is a difference between the expensive cables is like saying there is a difference between a $10 USB cable and a $70 USB cable. There isn't, and essentially, HDMI is a 'USB' cable, since all it does is transmit a digital signal from one device to another, vs Component, which was analog, and prone to interference (hence the increased quality when using gold tips, shilded cables, etc).
Buying a cheaper cable will yield no visual or audible difference to a person, only a machine.
Now, if you're talking a 25ft HDMI cable, the signal will begin to degrade, but again, it will be the same among all HDMI cables, and only machines will pick up on the difference. If you think you're seeing benefit, it's only a placebo effect.

they are pretty much the same. the connectors are the only difference. i've seen some that fall out easier than others which is annoying. i work for comcast and we use all gold ends like monster cable. the 19 cables are all the same though.

Like I said, it's very marginal. And I'm not talking about 25 ft cables, lol. It might only come down to quality control to be honest.

This is true.
But at the same time, my $12 HDMI cable from Monoprice is far superior, build quality wise, to my $30 HDMI cable from Wal-Mart.

I bought a HDMI cable on Amazon.com for less than a dollar and the shipping was only a few dollars and it performed just as well as a monster cable. With digital, the signal is either there or it is not. This is why you don't have $80 cables running to your computer monitpr
