HDTV + Digital Cable
I'd like to purchase an hdtv as a gift for my parents. However, while they have digital cable, I doubt they will ever pay for HD service.
My question: what is the visual quality of NON-HD digital cable (or NON-HD digital satellite) when connected to an hdtv (via component or hdmi)? The tv I have in mind is a Samsung ln26a450 (720p-ish).
It seems weird, but my friends that have hdtvs either have standard cable hooked directly into the set or have an HD box. And if they do have digital cable, they only have a standard def tv.
