Need help on choosing LCD TV and where to get

My dad is looking into to get 46" LCD tv 1080p and he prefers Samsung, we found a few, but he also prefers 120hz with higher contrast ratio. I know human eyes cant see more than 60hz, so 120hz would be better for movies or sports where there are fast moving objects to see, i think 60hz or under will create some blurr. This is our first LCD flat panel TV. Also Contrast ratio is it really important to have high contrast ratio?

We looked at best buy, nothing in stock. We find prices better at newegg.com and amazon.com but im feeling a little funny about purchasing online especially at amazon.com. Newegg has excellent repuation with me and my dad for computer stuff.

What if he gets one from newegg or amazon, what happens if something fails on the tv, who do we contact? who comes and fixes it? I know bestbuy would have someone come and check it.

He wants to buy the TV before 12/31/07. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

That's the one good thing about buying from a brick-n-mortar store. At least you can hash out the details with the salespeeps ahead of time. If you do purchase online be sure to ask beforehand if you'd have to contact the manufactor or the website for CS help if you did run into trouble.
