each has its own problems... LCD screens have a tendency to burst the pixels. When that happens you get little spots that have no color to them. In some situations, you could have the liquid gel inside those pixels drip down (behind the "screen") and you can't clean it up. I had an LCD that did a "bleed through" and it was horrible. Had to buy a new one....
as far as plasma, they've only been around a short time, they're still realitively expensive and no one really knows the longevity of them yet. hopefully they last, but be cautious of buying these types of things because electronics change every day. it's like all technology there is always going to be something better coming out shortly after. they do that so companies get double money from you.
