Well im guessing that if you go to a pro audio store you could get the wireless transmitors and reseavers we use in music and i guess you could rig them to work for home theater...or better yet go to like a concert and go in before the show and talk to the sound guys they might be able to set you up with something.
My dad and I looked around, but couldn't find what we were looking for. No big deal, we just ended up running the wires through the basement ceiling and back up to the family room walls so no wires are visible.

Try in-wall wiring, or buy flat wire that is similar in color to your walls. Wireless speakers/headphones have horrible reception and sound quality; not worth the money.

of you don't want ugly cables all over, then get some nice looking cables
bu if not, the flat cables would be the way to go, do whatever you can, just don't go wireless. You'd need to spend a lot of money to make a decent wireless setup, with digital transmitters and receivers, and dedicated D/A converter and Amp for each speaker.

I know from running sound at concerts that wireless sounds prity damn close to going through the cables. And at a concert it wont matter thoug massive volume its a sound over load for the ears so it dont matter... But with home theater you want clarity so i guess wireless is not the way to go...but new idea if your like abouve teh gararage run them under the room and back up if you know what i mean.
the way i want my speakers set up in my house, i want them mounted near the ceiling at each corner of the den, 6 peices. if i have wires, they're gonna need to be like 50 feet long they're on the floor right now
would there be any difference in sound if i had them that high up, rather than on the ground?

What speakers are they? You should have a diagram from the manufacturer that has the 'recommended listening' level to the speaker. Place them a little above ear level and you'll be fine. I'm guessing you have cubes so mounting them in the corners is fine too. You need speaker wire...how many feet do you need and what speakers do you have? www.partsexpress.com has 100' 12 guage for $35, can't beat that and I think they have flat wire there too.
Nobody will notice the wires if the installation is done right.
