It is not a setting that is changeable. It shows up only when you are actually in a thread.

You may have misunderstood me. Im talking about the thing that used to be on the left side of the scree when you were at the home page or looking through a list of threads. It was always there, and above it I believe it said USER-(*something) in which by clicking on it, it would list your subscriptions and reputation below. This same one also showed the rep power.

One more question, when I click the [MORE] link for posting different smileys, why does it ask me for a user and pass? Its always done it for me, but Im just curious
I could be wrong but I think it has something to do with a smiley hosted somewhere other than the Superhonda.com domain. The top of my user/pw box says the following:
Authentication Required: The server benchi.crowd9.com at Restricted Area requires a username and password.
