Why in the world did Honda/Mugen list this "enhanced" Civic Si at the cost of a nearby S2000??? The answer is because somebody will be spoiled and dumb to the fact that this car is just a civic si x Mugen parts!
2 points... 1) why spend the extra money to have some "aero kits" and "track ready" suspension system, when you could save the extra and buy your own upgrades? Doesn't seem to make sense to buy a brand new Civic Si (non-mugen) and pay the 5,000 dollars to get a FI? I think it is a better way to spend money! 2) how embarrassing would it be if you are in the Mugen Civic, and get beaten by a grocery-getter civic that has FI?
No wonder Honda is planning to release only 1000 of these money-sucking babies to the US market - correct me if I am wrong!
Bottom line is save your hard earned money, or (for some of you) your parents' hard earned money (aka your college funds), and buy something that makes more sense. Let the other idiot waste his 33,000 dollars (after tax, tag, and title) and watch him become regretful...
Short and sweet: If you want one of the 1,000 2008 Honda Civic MUGEN Si sedans coming to dealer showrooms, you will have to pony up $29,500 plus taxes and destination charges. That amount gets you a Civic Si that's been given the once-over by MUGEN, which supplies a track-tuned suspension, aerodynamics package, lightweight wheels, and a sport exhaust. Something tells us that the first official MUGEN vehicle for the US market will have no problem attracting 1,000 people willing to part with 30 grand.
why do people continue to knock this car......personally i wouldn't buy it my self. but the doesn't hide that fact that this could very well be/or is the least produced civic and even honda of all time. that being said see me in ten years when those evo's and sti's are fetching half of the price originally paid for or even less, while the civics value should stay the same. to the right buyer its worth every penny spent. and from the 2000 built which will probably dwindle down to around 1500/or less over the next ten years could very well make this one of the most sought after hondas aswell of all time. think about it......

I'm thinking about it. I think it's a stretch, but I'm thinking about it. One Honda that might be in that category is the ITR. The Integra Type R's have held their values remarkably well, especially if you can find that that hasn't been riced out and/or abused. I don't see this Civic in that category. The performance numbers are essentially the same as the basic SI - from what I've read in more than one review. The R's give you increased performance.
You named 2 cars that I'd be looking at in that price range, along with, for 5-8 grand less, the MS3...
my friends brother works at a dealership and we stopped by and they had a mugen civic.. pretty sick i'm not gonna like.. my friends were even impressed with it.. and they are pure american muscle kinda guys.. its a nice lookin car. looks very sexy. .and the fact that only 1000 are in the us is another thing to look at.. yet it doesn't have that much better performance that a civic si.. its still a sweet car non the less in my opinion.. if i had the money to spend on this car then i would. even thou you could get an evo.. or sti.. i'd take evo anyday. for not too much more. just bein able to say.. hey i own one of the 1000 MUGEN civics in the us would still be nice. and most people like to do their own different things to tune their engines how they want and to their needs.. i like the car overall.. even thou it is pretty pricey.. my friends brother says it'll take forever to sell cause no one will pay that much for a "civic"..
for that much they should of made it a right hand drive!
yes because making the car less practical and safe with no performance gain/benefit is always smart.
the car= fail. and considering they're going for over 32,000 dollars. i could put 12,000 into a stock si and smoke that crap. mugen badges do not equal more than 10K in price increase. it doesn't even make more power than a stock si

I guess if you like feeling that you own something rare and overpaying for some JDM add-ons than by all means this is the car for you. Personally, I'd rather by a stock Si and build it myself and blow that "rare" ride out of the water...I can think of tons of cars I'd be more likely to look at if I were willing to part w/ $30K on a new car.
