Leaning towards denso

So I am leaning towards DENSO... after reading 6 pages of posts...

I have a 01 Lude Type SH, and got a number of options that havent been mentioned on this thread...

Iridium Power, Standard, Platinum TT, Double Platinum (OE), and Iridium Long Life. Further info can be found in the link below.

DENSO Aftermarket: Catalog Search From DENSO: Quality Aftermarket Automotive Parts

Which plugs are the best? Last long but still support a heavy foot?

I am only getting 300 miles to the tank (15.9 gal) equalling out to roughly 18 mpg. Granted I am driving short stop and go distances but something is wrong. WTF Over!

I have fitted just about every know spark plug to man! Apart form them pulstar plugs they look strange.
My own results are. .
*Champions* burn out and are really bad
*Bosch standards* caused miss fire
*Bosch triple 4's* stopped a car running as soon as i changed them and just need thrown to hell!
*NGK standards* were ok but i got a hunt and flat spots at top end
*NGK platinum's* did the same as above
*Splitfires* caused misfire
*Bosch iridium's* caused a hunt on idle and slightly less response and slight increase in det on full boost.
*DENSO Iridium's* removed flat spots and i noticed a big difference!
*HKS* was the same as Denso iridium's but twice the price (+the look absolutely the same as Denso so i bet Denso make them)
I've used Denso Iridium's now for over 3 years on everything my Bikes and all cars and out board motors.
The reason i found out about them is my best friend worked for Msport ford world rally team and they run the off the shelf plugs same as me and you can buy in store in there WRC cars and they never once had a plug failure! So if they are good enough for WRC teams they are good enough for me

a little spark plug tech

Here is my two cents on spark plugs derived from years of experience and a little experiment my class did while in tech school. Carbon is a natural by-product of combustion. Anyone who has worked on cars for any length of time has seen a "carbonned-up" plug. This is usually a result of a rich running engine(more carbon, cooler mixture, burns less), bad rings, or a weak ignition system. A good running engine will not develop carbon deposits because the plug is cleaned every time the engine fires. Here is the problem with multi-electrode spark plugs: Since each electrode is only getting hit with spark once every 2 or 4 times the engine fires (depending on if the plug has 2 or 4 electrodes) it is only getting cleaned that often as well, which means it collects carbon much faster than a conventional 1-electrode plug. What we found was that, unless your engine spend MOST of its time north of 4000 RPM, you will LOSE power with multi-electrode plugs because they will collect carbon much faster. Now, if you are running a MSD box, that may change things since it send multiple sparks each revolution, but we never tested the plugs with one of those.

As far as the platinum verses iridium, I will defer to the expertise of Mr. Kenny Duttweiler, who if you don't know, makes a LOT of power out of smaller turbo engines. He wrote and article about that which can be found
here.

so this thread has been dead for a while, but these are good questions for import newbies.

I've been using the Bosch +4s for a few thousand miles now, but when I replace them, I still gag a bit at the price. Some say NGK, some say Denso, some say Bosch is fine. In the end, I really don't want to shell out more than I already do, but what has the best performance for a similar price (or cheaper, I won't complain).

The car is a daily driver with a (more or less) stock d15, but I do put her through her paces. And she only drinks Chevron gas (generally 87 octane)

find NGK and denso offerings, tehn go with cheapest

cheapest at advance auto for my d15b7 was some NGKs, was like 8.30 with tax

NGK or duralast wires work well. very surprisingly, the duralast wires for the d15 motors work very well

Keep in mind guys, you dont need fancy plugs if your motor is stock. Dont care if it has a header or intake, if the pistons are not touched and the motor has no forced induction, stick to stock style plugs. no need for platinums, or 4 tips, or whatever mumbo jumbo. the car wont see any benefit and your wallet takes a lil hit.

I will be trying denso soon after I have replaced my bosch plugs. I have read many good reviews and it is highly recommended too. I just hope that I don't screw up the spark plug wires this time.

Denso is a great brand, but dont expect a certain brand to be your bread and butter.

Sometimes it takes a lil trial and error
