An interview with l-natural

Ok well I have been setting up some email interviews with companies, race teams, and manufactures with in the import scene. Today I offer you my first submission

(1) How did you guys get started with imports? And why did you go that route?

Our team got started in import events back in 1994. My self
Jeremy Lookofsky was actually into lowriders & became a regular at the street races w some friends and decided to build my own street car. Which is our current record holding L'Natural Crx. 10.68 @129

(2) Who do you guys look up to in the industry?

I cant say i look up to just one person there is a whole group of people i respect and can give thanks to for continued support.

(3) What is your favorite racetrack? Why?

Atco Raceway Nj. This is where we broke all of our records.

(4) What kind of education do you guys all have? And what kind of education do you feel is important for this industry?

Myself personally i Have a colege education w a parallegal Degree. My driver Shawn Hillier is not much for school but did well for himslef running his own detail Bussiness and selling Hard to find Jdm Parts.

(5) Is the import scene a life style for you guys do you drive imports off the track

It is a scene for us although we all have outside activities besides cars. Such as mine would be Snowboarding & Baseball,

(6) So what are the chances if me getting to drive the l-natural CRX? (steel from www.superhonda.com is willing to drive out there to you guy for a drive)

ahahahahha i have been approchedby many fans as well sponsors of the car. My answer still to this day is would you allow me to take your wife for a test drive... Thats what i thought no hard fellings... K

(7) Are you guys a believer in the statement made by Carrol Shelby "there is no replacement for displacement"?

Oh ya the bigger the better,

(8) What is your favorite Honda engine/platform

Well i would have to say the H series motor .. Its has gotten me to where i am today..

(9) What engine modifications would you recommend for the average import tuner "strictly street car"

(10) Do you think the alien Elvis army is waging a secret war on the US super soldiers on the crop circle battlefield? (sorry off topic)

Cant say I am really not a fan of all this war topics. If it was me i would just kill them all first..

(11) What % of engine parts do you custom fabricate and what % is off the shelf aftermarket parts

About 80 % of the motor is custom internal parts,, Ranging from piston diameter to Rod Length to the top end of custom cam.

(12) When building the H-series engine did you start with the H23 bottom end or the H22? Why?

H 23 bottom has a bigger stroke to start with so we go with that. as well they are a little easier to find on the wholesale market..

(13) I see on your website that you sell Hasport engine mounts do you use them? Or are your mounts custom?

We use custom mounts on our race car but on all street swaps we use the hasport kits.

(14) Have you ever considered using the gen one CRX because it's a lighter base to start with?

Never thought of that, But we did build a new 2001 civic coupe for its longer wheels base and to come current w some newer cars.

(15) How much of your track success comes from engine tuning in comparison to suspension tuning?

They are both equal. You canmake the most power out of any one but if you cant get it to the ground then it does nothing for you..

(16) What kind of engine specs do they run...compression ratio,
displacement, rod/stroke ratio?


we have a 2.5 liter motor with some hig compression ?????????? use your imagination...

(17) What are your goals over the next year?

To better our times in our crx and work out all the bugs in our new car.

(18) How do you feel about the change Honda made to its new line of engines? Do you see any promise in there new K-series engines?

The K sereis motor internals are awesome. The crank is a work of art and soon as somebody starts going fast with it everyone will jump ship...

(19) What does l-natural offer to the community around you in terms of jobs internships? (from Mr Clockwork he really wants a job with you guys)

Hum havent really had a chance to think about bringing in any interns but that is a possibility.. I am busy & can use some help ..

(20) Where do you see import racing in say 5 years? Where do you see team l-natural in 5 years?

The import scene in 5 yrs should be one of the biggest markets ever.

Our Team in 5 yrs we hope to be sponsored by a big corpoartion and racing in the Nhra circut as a full time JOb ..
