I saw that civic in HT with those hoses. I thought it was pretty cool looking. The real test will be in the summer time when it's hot out as well. All in all I give it a . I think I will try this myself.
Yeah, the blue Civic that was all motor LS/VTEC? That who I janked this from. It all started with a picture and a trip to Lowe's.
Well, I did my 250 mile trip, which took about 5 hours. Birmingham traffic sucks balls. But, the hoses held up. I'm sure it got pretty hot under there sitting in traffic for two hours...... hoses look fine, no distortion or stretching anywhere!

Yeah Ive been wanting to do this forever. Its funny how people do seem to like it. You can also see the condition of your coolant. They should make this standard actually.
I saw this on a car at a show and it looked really nice. They had a different hose. Also there is a place that does blown glass for radiator tubes.
Stuff comes out looking crazy , then others are putting dies into as well as black light reactive liquid and the hoses glow whatever color.
Just giving yah ideas. Also here is the blown glass tubes....its pretty cool, but scares me.
I was showing my friend the pics of your set-up GSRGreenSleeper and I don't think you'll have too much of a problem with the hoses bursting because of the reinforcement nylon in the tubing. Stock tubes come like this but the only thing you should keep a lookout for is the hose "collasping".
Mods: Stock, 1 xplod 1100w 12"sub, Sony 1100w mono amp.

wow that looks really cool... but def. not for a daily driver
Wow, nice job with the hoese. Clear = BadAss. I have seem those hoses before, and I will be willing to bet that they should hold up with out a problem. I never just never thought of doing that. Im thinking about it now .
Thanks,
Matt

I have never had a problem with the stock radiator cap with any of my Honda's...
im not saying that there is a problem with them. im saying that after a few years they dont work right and dont hold as much pressure if any than it should, thus your cooling system is not at the best it can be, the more pressure on the system the higher your boiling point, just a little extra thang =)
So GSRGreenSleeper how are the hoses holding up to driving conditions? Any problems with the hoses?
Still no problems. The hoses have been on there for two weeks now, survived a 250 mile trip twice, and birmingham traffic for two hours. I think they just might make it.

I would be careful. I have some of that clear hose that is rated 200psi but that is at 70 degrees F..... i would not trust it..... unless you see a high pressure rating at a high temp...especially on the upper radiator hose...that is where most of the pressure is..... careful!

I keep the stock hoses in my trunk. I have a feeling that if it was going to blow, it would have. I keep checking it, though.

the hose i have been able to find is rated for like 200psi at 70 degrees farenheit. Do you guys think that even though its tested at 70 degrees that it can take higher temps okay? I dont want to melt a hole through the tubing or anything crazy like that.
Also, I think the stuff i found is the same as what MrGSR has. All of the tubing I looked at was rated at 70 degrees....so I don't know. But on monday I'm going to look for higher temp clear tubing. If I can't find any do you think its safe to use theother stuff?
