if im not mistaken it should be the same as a D series, just take the valve cover off, remove all of the intake manifold bolts in the back, remove the timing belt make sure u have a mark on the cam gear and the belt, remove the 16 (i think) head bolts, take a long piece of wood stick it under the cam gear and pry up and remove the head, scrape off all the gasket , put a new gasket on with some gasket sealer, reverse process

Yes sir that sounds about right. Just be sure not to get any crap under the valve cover and use a high temp gasket sealer you can get for a couple bucks at oriely's and advance auto parts. Peace

its recomended to, but thats only if its warped, if the car was overheating alot there is a chance that it was warped.
im replacing the head gasket on my 92 lude F22a1, i just got a precison straight edge off a freind and checked to see if its warped or not. ive been told i shoulda used a dial indicator, but all i care is thats its flat. Block and Head were flat, thats with 243k+ miles and it overheated for the last 8k miles.
Btw, since you already got the head off you might as well and replace the timing belt + waterpump, since you have to remove the timing belt to do it(at least thats how it is on the lude).
also, i recomend using impact sockets to remove the head bolts. I didnt at first and the socket split and rounded off the bolt. ended up replacing all the bolts.
dont you have to use new head bolts, i thought they were torque to yield bolts. BTW you should loosen all the head bolts evenly like you would when you torque the bolts down to avoid warping the head.
its a little harder than they said, you need to take the bracket bolts off the intake (under it) because it should be bolted to the block. then drain the coolant and oil, then you have to take the timing belt off, remove the exaust manifold (PITA if its rusted), yea then the valve cover and the head bolts. i heard you should get new ones too, they are 9 bucks each!!! at the honda dealer, and theres 10 i believe.=( anyways yeah pretty simple, just takes some time.
