need proffesional advice on motor prob.

i have a 1993 honda accord,ex,a/t, f22a6 2.2 all motor, last may i snapped my timming belt bending a valve so i put new timming belt and commponents along with a resurfaced head.at first my cel came on with a flashing d4 i pin jumped the dlc got a code 6 or 66 = cooling temp sensor wich i tested and was in fact bad so i replaced the one i bought had the same thread same connector but different color my old one was purple the new one i got was grey and the element looked little different but i threw it in and cleared my light. however there is still one problem that remains when i get onto a highway it takes a quarter mile to get up to speed at first with the junk sensor i wasnt getting a accurate temp guage reading ,i do now and before i couldnt get up to 60 miles per hour now i can but i still cannot accelerate, ive checked double triple checked my timming it will surge from retarded to advanced but tapper off dead nuts. i changed my pluggs with ngk iridiums, new bosch wires, cap, rotor everything i could rule out.i know i may be burning some oil as on decel i get some white smoke and changing a tailight one day last week i looked down at my leg and noticed either carbon or oil splatter on my leg.my transmisiom seems fine doesnt slip but can tell my engine is really lagging under load. with no load in the city car rides beutiful try to get up to speed on highway is a pisser. when i first changed temp sensor and test drove it my oil light came on blinking, checked it and was bone dry filled her up and besides the small amount burning on decel.the oil light hasnt come back on and been pretty consistant used 10 -30 usually use sythetic but since i was bone dry and wallet to i just used some penzoil for the time being till i do a change in the near few days. as for the cel it has onlt come on after about fifteen minuites of highway driving.some other visual thing i noticed that may help with replies is i have a small exaust leak comming out of my cat,not the cat itself is leaking but the weld to the pipe going to the muffler i hope someone can help me out, put to much money into this car to abandon now
