Do I need to use the Knock Sensor?

I am building a LS/Vtec (B18c1/B18b1).
I have a p72 ecu.
Do I need to install the knock sensor or can I just disable it with my hondata to use VTEC?

Thanks

No you do not. Simply have the ecu chipped for your motor build & have the sensor disabled. The sensor really has no effect on bseries setups.
