What soldering/desoldering irons do you guys use to chip your ECU.
How and by what ways does the ECU communicate to your laptop
Are you able to tune the car off of the free version of Crome or do I need Crome Pro.
Any other first time advice that you would give to a beginner

i use an adjustable 15w/30w iron from radioshack and thin solder. I nice desoldering gun goes a LONG way. Makes the whole process so much easier. But these nice ones are about 100 dollars and have their own built in electric vacuum pump aka NICE.
when you chip the ecu, you desolder the area which the socket is placed. your eeprom chip goes on that.
You need Crome Pro to do any real-time tuning. In order to do this, you need an ostrich (emulator), Burn1 (chip programmer), Hulog (logger cable), honda chip kit. Crome Pro is 150 dollars.
all the parts to tune comes out to around 500 dollars for a full tuning setup minus the wideband.
I would honestly tell you that after spending that much money, it is MUCH easier and cheaper to go with a better program.
I recommend Neptune RTP as its 400 shipped and is very easy to install. You will not run into the kind of issues you will with crome on getting it setup properly.
