PT3 ECU, TUNING, TURBO AND NA

i have a f22a4 5 speed ecu (pt3). i have a jdm f22b dohc engine. i'm using the oem accord tranny.
this is a question on what i should do to my ecu. this is new to me. i want to be able to tune my ecu and modify a/f maps, lose rev limit, etc.
i have been pointed to this site.
http://www.ecucontrol.com
what is this? how does it work?
i do not wish to change any parts i have (like get the p14 ecu for my engine or h23 tranny) this is strictly about taking my car to the dyno and having it tuned or tuning it myself.
currently i am na with the normal mods. no cams yet. no internal engine work yet. will happen soon but not today ($). i plan on turbo by mar 05. i want to know about what to do then as well (regarding the ecu, etc)
also, what is the difference between the ex and the ex-r (90-93 cb7)? my vin says i have an ex-r.
thanks in advance.
please be technical. no "my buddy put a p28 in it and got hondata" or "take it to someone and have it reprogrammed" i'm looking to keep stock ecu and tune it myself.
it's long i know.

There's tons of information on ECU tuning and ECUControl (Which is datalogging software and has it's own forum section) at http://forum.pgmfi.org

There are no freeware editors that support the PT3 ECU, but they are tunable... If you really don't want to swap ECUs then you're pretty much stuck figuring out the PT3 code base for yourself... The people who have taken the time to figure it out won't spoon feed you the information you need to be able to tune it yourself...

ok, the f and h series computers work on a totally different language design than the d and b series computers do. No one has been able to de-engineer the f/h computers succesfully.

Your best bet is to get a civic or integra ecu and chip it to work on ur engine. Uberdata is the easiest/most supported freeware rom tuning out there. The chip burner costs about 50 bux(Willem burner, from ebay) and the software is of course, free.

I've tuned 2-3 cars so far on uberdata, on turbo and one n/a and have had good luck w/ it. Check out the uberdata sticky in this forum for more info

i have an f22b dohc. i'm probably going to buy a p14 ecu. are you saying i should buy an integra ecu? people say p28 but that's sohc right? also i would like a higher rev limit. i think teg ecu would be better. also, the thought of chipping scares me. it's just the vagueness of it.....and the constant hours of trial and error....

Like I stated above, there's no freeware editors that support PT3s... As far as your statement above goes, there's no FREEWARE editors that fully support f/h series ECUs... However, your statement above is incorrect...

iamanonymous>Do you have an F22B non-VTEC or an F22b1 VTEC engine? If you have the F22B non-VTEC you don't need a P28... You can use a non-VTEC ECU, that'll save you some money...

Also, what year is your accord? Doesn't the F22a4 come stock in the 90-91 accord? If you're OBD0 you'll need to convert to OBD1 first to be able to run an OBD1 civic/integ ECU...

what software out there thats even non-freeware can work w/ the f/h computers?

also..the 90-93 accords are all obd1, so he doesen't have to worry about the conversion..

NepTune... As far as F/H series it fully covers P0A, P0B, P0C, P0D, P0H, P0L, P11, P12, P13, P14, and P39 ECUs already... Those are a mix of USDM/JDM/EDM VTEC and Non-VTEC ECUs... PT3, PT5, PT6 are also scheduled for completion... And anything else I can get my hands on... Now you know... No more of this no one has been able to crap... It's been done for quite some time now... :P
