I was driving home from work today and all of a sudden i got this message on my odom saying check fuel cap. havent got gas in 2 weeks so i guess it got loose from a bump or something. so i tightened it and it still had the message flashing. i checked the manual and it says it takes about 3 days for it to go off, i was wondering if anyone has experienced this before? if not i guess ill make a trip to the dealer in a few days. any info will help thanks in advance.

that happens a lot on any OBDII cars. trust me, I see it constantly on newer models during emissions testing.

the good ones have a "check fuel cap" light... newer Fords and obviously this new '06 rsx are some examples.

The annoying ones set a fault code and turn on the check engine light... normally it's an Evap gross leak code.

just tighten the cap, and it'll turn itself off. if it doesn't do it after about 100 miles or so... reset your car's computer (disconnect the battery) and it'll do the trick.
